Dan Bunker LGBT Equality & Diversity
Working with organisations,
schools and businesses to improve LGBT visibility, promote positive
role models and good diversity practice. Getting alongside like minded
individuals and partner organisations with the overall aim of changing
and improving lives for LGBT people.
"There is no doubt that the UK has seen a dramatic improvement to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender equality over the last 20 years. Things which weren't possible for me in my late teens are now a reality under UK law. The mistake which many people make is to be too complacent about where LGBT people now sit in terms of true equality and inclusion in the twenty-first century. Laws can change but it can take generations for the effects of those laws to be truly felt by a society. Despite protection under law many LGBT people are still discriminated against, harassed and dismissed by modern day society.

Being lesbian, gay or
bisexual is as much about who you sleep with that being heterosexual
is. But it can influence so many decisions we make, like where we live,
where we work, how and where we travel, who we socialise with, how we
feel about ourselves and how we choose to interact with people on a
daily basis. With this in mind it can be a real struggle for some to
get equality and inclusion right. Also with transgender now developing
it's own broad spectrum and radical movement it is sometimes difficult
to keep up.
My hope is the work that I do will go some way in helping achieve true equality and inclusion for LGBT people in the UK. By working alongside organisations to challenge attitudes, change actions and improve lives." - Dan Bunker
